COVID-19 RESPONSE
AMYAA NGO had engaged in COVID-19 Response right from the early week of March 2020. Before any
cases were recorded in Arunachal Pradesh AMYAA Team was already engaged in making home-made mask
which were provided freely to needy vulnerable children who were found roaming and loitering without
wearing a proper face mask inspite of the deadly COVID-19 Outbreak. AMYAA NGO had interacted to
more than 25 villages in Lower Dibang Valley district. As part of the COVID-19 relief Programme AMYAA
team in collaboration with CHILDLINE ROING had conducted awareness on COVID-19, Banners related to
Do’s and Don’ts of COVID were set up at SBI Bank entrance, Petrol Pump, Parking lots, Team visited Child
Care Institute to motivate the children and conducted PSS activities on weekly basis, AMYAA team also conducted
awareness programme and activities at villages by coordinating with anganwadi workers, SHGs and
local youths and community based organization.
Apart from programmes and activities AMYAA also provided ration, hand sanitizer, face mask to vulnerable
daily wages families, Physically disabled persons, Old aged, widows. Distributed free sanitary napkins to adolescents
belonging to poor families. Donated stationary items likes story books, drawing kits, toys to children
in order to keep them active and engaged in creative and learning process.
Amidst COVID-19, AMYAA team was able to reached out and provide help to 2411 individuals of Lower
Dibang Valley. In-spite of the hardship and trouble faced by the team the positive energy of the team never
faded. The team commitment towards duty and voluntary dedication were selfless. The source of motivation
for the team was the smiles and tremendous fruitful responses from the local as well as administrations.
